The house is where William Tennent began teaching in Warminster Township in the early eighteenth century. As the student body increased, the Log College was built nearby on York Road. Students of that college became ministers and founders of other academies in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as held significant positions as trustees and presidents during the formative years of Princeton University.
The William Tennent House Association has taken on the mission of restoring the home back to the time when William Tennent and his family lived there. Once restored, we will preserve the home as a place to educate the public by sharing how this site became an honored part of higher education in early America. A monument stands on the site of the Log College and lists 63 descendant colleges and universities. Please join us at HQ Studio for an evening of sound and energy healing meditation with Rev. Sharon Kachel.
Sound is a magical way to feel better and Show More...literally repair. The loud tone of a crystal bowl can clear energy in a body, mind and entire building. The heaviness of difficult emotions can lift and clear.
The Tibetan bells, chimes and bowls have various ways to help and heal. The bowls can heal an energy center that has been out of balance for years. They can center the mind in the echo of a ten second period. The chimes can lift and clear any heaviness. There are also specific frequencies that are given in chime and tuning fork forms.
After this class, you will feel more centered and peaceful.
Light snacks and beverages will be served. Admission is $10 and can be paid with cash at the door.
RSVP to HQ Studio at 215.283.0399 or just show up!

A new exhibit at Pearl S. Buck International shares the stories of Jewish communities in China over millennia. These stories intrigued Pearl S. Buck and Show More...her husband Richard Walsh so much that each explored them in their published works. Ms. Buck wrote the novel "Peony" and the play "Flight into China" on the subject. Mr. Walsh included scholarly articles about the topic in his publication, "Asia" magazine.
Jews settled in China as tradespeople on the silk road. They had strong communities and became part of society. One of the largest communities was in K'aifeng. A stele (stone tablet) commemorates the construction of a synagogue there in 1163, but by the 1850s there were only remnants of the building standing and most families had assimilated.
Part of the exhibit at Pearl S. Buck International is a retelling, through words and photos, of one Jewish family's flight from Nazi Germany into China. Packed in the luggage was a copy of "The Good Earth" which descendants presume was carried so far in order to become part of a lending library established during their stay in China.

Exhibit Hours:
Mon-Fri 8:30 to 5:00
Saturday 10:30 to 3:00
Sunday 12:30 to 3:00

A new exhibit at Pearl S. Buck International shares the stories of Jewish communities in China over millennia. These stories intrigued Pearl S.

Mon-Fri 8:30 to 5:00
Saturday 10:30 to 3:00
Sunday 12:30 to 3:00
Admission to the Exhibit Gallery is complimentary.
