Hobbies and crafts provide seniors with hours of fun that will stimulate brain function, improve manual dexterity, reduce stress, improve focus, and promote relaxation (just to name a few benefits). Also, there has been some evidence that crafts & hobbies can delay dementia and Alzheimer's disease by keeping a senior’s mind active. We have complied a Seniors Hobby Shop with some awesome gift ideas for seniors, including jigsaw puzzles, coloring books, memory games, LEGO sets, paint by number kits, and yarn and fabric crafts (knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, needlepoint, and latch hooking). Enjoy!
Senior Centers provide lots of opportunities to take a up a card game, fitness class or more! Take a look at our Area Senior Centers. Volunteering can provide lots of enrichment. Check out our Volunteer Directory for opportunities.
